Trucks, trailers, and mobile cranes all may need an inspection at some point to comply with safety regulations and state laws. Vehicles that weigh more than 10,001 lbs. are usually required to pass a DOT truck inspection. Meanwhile, most vehicles newer than model year 1995 will need to be Maryland State Inspected before you can register them. Lastly, most mobile cranes need to be inspected at least once per year by qualified inspectors.
While these are the most common scenarios, this should not be used to determine whether or not you need an inspection. Please check all local and state regulations for which inspections you may or may not need. The buttons below will take you to Maryland or Delaware’s Department of Transportation pages for more complete information.
The good news is: whatever inspection you need, M&L Truck Service can complete any and all of them for you!
DOT Truck Inspections
Vehicles that weigh more than 10,001 lbs. are usually required to pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) truck inspections from a DOT-certified inspection service. The experienced technicians at M&L Truck Service can complete this inspection for your commercial vehicles to ensure all systems are in perfect working order to keep your employees and other drivers safe on the road.

We’re proud to be a certified Maryland State Inspection station and here to guide you every step of the way. If you find yourself in the position of needing a Maryland State Inspection, you’re probably facing one of these scenarios: 1) You just moved to Maryland (60 days to complete certification). 2) You bought, were gifted or inherited a vehicle (90 days to complete certification).
Crane Inspections
Keep your crane operators, transport drivers, and the public safe knowing your mobile crane is in good working order and in compliance with all OSHA crane inspection requirements. We have 3 technicians here at M&L Truck Service who are certified to perform crane inspections. They have completed hours of training in both a classroom and in field prior to completing a written test, and gained hands-on experience of crane maintenance, servicing and repairing, modifying and functional testing of cranes and hoist equipment.
